Heavyweight sleeper (12 section, 1 drawing room),
New Haven "Anatok" (NH 700).
I started with one of the Pecos River Brass models unlettered and painted Pullman green. The car
was disassembled, the diaphragm plates and saftey gates were removed, and the door frame openings
were widened. American Limited
operating diaphragms were assembled and attached at either end. New holes were drilled and tapped
for the coupler screws, which had to be adjusted inward for the draphragms to operate properly.
Custom decals were made and applied. The car body was sprayed with a satin clear finish to protect
the decals and kill the high gloss black sheen on the roof. The windows were formed from Evergreen
clear styrene and attached with Walthers Goo. The frosted bathroom windows were cut from Rosco
light frost photographic diffusion filter film and attached to the clear styrene from the inside.
Micro-Trains couplers were added after the car was assembled. This sleeper is assigned to the Owl consist.
