Heavyweight diner, New Haven (NH 5229).
This is a standard Rivarossi diner with slight modifications. I started
with a Pullman green unlettered model and removed the horizontal beams from the
dining room windows to more closely approximate the prototype. New brass
stirrups from Gold Metal were added in various places and painted to match the
body. Gold Metal Venetian blinds were cut to various lengths, painted white
and added to the dining room windows. I shaved the simulated end diaphragms
and added American Limited heavyweight diaphragms. I attached a strip of
Rosco light frost diffusion film to the inside of the kitchen windows to obscure
the view.
