53-foot GSC flatcar, Pennsylvania (PRR 469504).  This started as a stock Athearn model decorated for Pennsylvania, but I wasn't happy with it.  The model was disassembled and the diecast body stripped of paint.  The plastic deck parts were discarded.  New end sills were formed from styrene, and holes were drilled and tapped for body-mounted couplers.  The carbody was painted Tuscan red.  Custom decals properly scaled were added and sealed with Dullcote after setting.   Laser-cut thin plywood deck parts replaced the stock plastic decks, which were then stained and weathered with pastels.  Micro-Trains body-mounted couplers and Fox Valley metal wheels were added.
