Main Yard in Helena, on the HStP&B.  A shot of the main yard in Helena from under the 17th Street Bridge.  A pinhole lens was used for this track-level shot on Peter Kruimer's Helena, St. Paul & Blackfoot.  The unlimited depth of field gives the impression that the city is many blocks deep.  The foreground buildings are three dimensional, while the next group consists of building flats in front of printed backdrops.  The scene appears to be shot outside, when in fact the small patch of sky seen in the distance is on a photographic backdrop.  The scene which was shot under three blue 500-watt Photoflood lamps using Velvia 50 film in a Pentax K-1000 set at f90 for 2 minutes.  (July 1999).
