`70's Dodge Monaco Police Cruiser.
This Highway Patrol casting was disassembled and stripped of its black enamel paint, and the basic wheels
were discarded. The body sides were sprayed with two coats of gloss white enamel followed by
Testors Gloss Pearl Clearcoat. After this dried, the sides were masked off and the remainder
of the body was sprayed with three coats of Deep Pearlescent Purple. Custom decals in metallic
gold, black and white were designed and applied to the roof and sides.
White old-style Real Rider hubs with Good Year tires were utilized. The chassis
was buffed with steel wool. The chassis grill was painted flat black, the headlights painted silver
and the turn signals painted Amber Metallic. The six spotlight faces on the body were painted
silver. The body and chassis were sprayed with two coats of High Gloss Clearcoat to seal the paint
and decals. A piece of aluminum foil was attached under the roof light bar for better light
reflection.
