Bulgin' Bel Aire in blue Spectraflame.
This is a new edition to the Spoilers group of Redlines. A `57 Chevy with the
blown engine was disassembled. The body was stripped and polished with steel
wool. I originally was going to spray the body with a coat of Tamyia transparent
yellow acrylic, but decided to use Testors transparent blue enamel instead. The body was
sprayed with multiple coats of transparent blue, followed with a
coat of High Gloss Clearcoat. The headlights were painted silver, the indentations
of the floating grill were painted flat black and the taillights painted flat red.
The glass was masked and the interior sprayed flat white. Redline wheelsets were
added to the chassis. The Spoiler stripes and numbers were computer-generated,
then printed on Avery label stock, cut to shape and applied.
